Do you have concrete gutters installed to your property? If you do, these are likely to be 'Finlock' gutters. They are commonly found in houses built during between 1950 and 1970. Traditionally these gutters had an Aluminium foil and hot bitumastic liner, but this method proved to be a short term measure as over time the Finlock concrete blocks become porous and the joints start leaking, staining the exterior walls and causing damp inside the property.
The concrete units span the cavity and also provide a gutter profile. In some installations, they are formed into a lintel over the windows by inserting steel bars into the lintel trough and filling it with concrete.
Here at Cotswold Rainwater Services we specialise in the installation of an Aluminium liners to the Finlock gutters throughout England, including Oxford, Reading, Cheltenham, High Wycombe and all surrounding towns and cities.
As a finishing touch, we can decorate the exterior of the Finlock concrete gutter blocks using proprietary masonry paint in a colour of your choice. We can also renew the existing downpipes using either uPVC or Aluminium downpipes transforming the appearance of your property!
